English

The archaeologists have six months to excavate the site before the authorities decide its future. They believe the villa belonged to a wealthy family, as suggested by the size of the rooms and the quality of the decoration. Afterward, some mosaics could be moved to the city museum. The discovery nevertheless delays the parking project, much to the regret of several shopkeepers. The mayor stated that heritage comes first, and he is studying the possibility of turning the place into a site open to the public. Exceptional guided tours will be organized starting next month for residents.
