Last summer, I travelled through the Loire Valley by bicycle in seven days, about three hundred and fifty kilometres. Every morning, I rode along the river, on quiet cycle paths, and stopped to visit castles. On the third day, I had a puncture in the middle of nowhere. A farmer helped me repair my wheel and even offered me a glass of apple juice. I think cycling is an excellent way to travel. First, it lets you discover the landscape slowly and meet people. Then, it is cheap and good for your health. Finally, it does not pollute. On the other hand, you have to accept tiredness and rain. But for me, it is an incomparable experience of freedom.
