English

On Sunday, I spent the day at the community garden that has just opened behind my neighbourhood's school. With about twenty neighbours, I planted tomatoes, carrots and aromatic herbs. A retired man showed us how to water without wasting water, and we had lunch together at wooden tables. My hands were full of soil, but I was delighted. I believe a community garden improves neighbourhood life in several ways. Not only does it allow people to grow fresh vegetables cheaply, but it also creates bonds between people who never used to talk to each other. Children, for their part, discover where food comes from. I hope the town hall will support other projects of this kind, because they make the city greener and more human.
