English

A few days ago, I pushed open the door of my neighbourhood's library, which I did not know. I thought I would only find books there. In reality, I discovered a very lively space: students revising in silence, a computer workshop for older people and a story corner for children. I took a free card and borrowed three novels in easy French. In my opinion, libraries remain essential, even in the age of the Internet. Whereas the web offers an infinite quantity of information, the library provides a quiet place, advice from professionals and free access to culture for everyone. It also helps newcomers to practise the language. I therefore encourage you to push that door: you will be surprised.
