I am a very shy person, so when a friend suggested a theatre improvisation workshop, I almost refused. At first, I was afraid of other people's gaze. The first exercise consisted of inventing a story as a group, sentence after sentence, without thinking. We all laughed a lot, and I forgot my embarrassment. By the end of the weekend, I even dared to go on stage alone. I think theatre can truly help you communicate better. You learn to listen, to speak louder and to use your body to express an idea. These skills are valuable in a job interview or during a presentation. If you find it hard to express yourself in front of others, try it: the results may surprise you. A single trial class is enough to get started.
