This summer, I worked as a waitress in a restaurant near the beach, six days a week. The days were long: I started at ten o'clock and often finished after midnight. One evening, the restaurant was full and a customer complained loudly about the wait. I stayed calm, apologised and offered him a dessert. He left happy, and I was proud of myself. I think part-time jobs are very useful during studies. They allow you to earn money, but also to develop independence, a sense of responsibility and the ability to work under pressure. These are qualities that employers appreciate. However, you should limit the hours during the school year, because tiredness can harm academic results.
