Last year, after ten years in retail, I decided to become a developer. I took a three-month online course, in the evenings and at weekends. I listened to lessons on a platform, did practical exercises and asked my questions on a forum. The hardest part was staying motivated when I was tired after my working day. Here is my advice. First, create a precise schedule and respect it like a real appointment. Then, find a quiet corner to study. Also join a group of students, because talking with others prevents isolation. Above all, set yourself small goals each week to measure your progress. Today, I have found a new job. If you hesitate to change careers, know that distance learning is a real opportunity.
