English

It has been four months since I started living in my new country, and my settling in has been more complicated than expected. My biggest difficulty was the administration. To open a bank account, I needed documents I did not know about, and I had to go back to the counter three times. I understood the explanations poorly because of the employees' accent. Yet I had a very nice surprise. A neighbour, seeing my stress, went with me and even invited me for a coffee. Since then, we meet every week, and I feel less alone. My advice to newcomers is never to hesitate to ask for help, from an association or from your neighbours. Prepare your papers in advance and stay patient: everything ends up working out.
