English

I have always been afraid of water and, at forty, I still did not know how to swim. Last summer, after a party by a lake where I did not dare to enter the water, I decided to sign up for adult classes. At first, I held the edge of the pool with both hands. The instructor, very calm, taught me to breathe and to float. Little by little, I put my head under the water, then I swam my first length. I almost cried with joy. I believe it is very useful to overcome your fears. It improves health, of course, but above all it gives self-confidence: after the pool, I feel capable of taking on other challenges. If you are afraid, start gently: it is never too late.
