  • Use the imparfait for habits and descriptions (je jouais, nous habitions) and the passé composé for one event.
  • Organize memories: place, family, school, games, one anecdote.
  • Use expressions of time: à cette époque, chaque été, un jour.

English

I spent my childhood in a small quiet town with my parents and my brother. When I was little, I played outside almost every day, soccer or hide-and-seek with the neighborhood kids. In summer we went to my grandparents', who lived in the countryside. My grandmother made delicious cakes and my grandfather told me stories. In elementary school I was rather shy, but I loved reading. One day I won a small drawing contest, and I was so proud that I showed my certificate to everyone. At that time we had few toys, but we were happy. I keep an excellent memory of it, and sometimes I miss this carefree life.
